Two things nobody wants in their home: mold and mildew. I mean really…there’s a reason why the last part of “mildew” is “ewwwww!” Lucky for all of us, our kitchen BFF baking soda (and her pal vinegar) is great at helping us get rid of these unwelcome and unhealthy substances. Here’s how to do it.
1. First, Baking Soda
Simple baking soda can kill mold and mildew. And best of all, it can do it without any toxic fumes or substances. Just ad 1/4 tablespoon baking soda to an average sized spray bottle (about 16 oz) and shake until dissolved. Then, spray the mold and use a cleaning brush or sponge to remove it. Once you’re done, rinse or wipe with a clean, damp rag. Repeat the spray again, but this time, let it air dry. This step will actually help keep mold from coming back.
