We all love our pets. But when your dog — for some reason totally incomprehensible for you — decides to use your couch as a fire hydrant, you have every right to get upset. If you want your furniture (or your carpet, for that matter) back in order and stink-free, it’s important to get to that stain as quickly as possible. But before you banish Fido to the backyard for the foreseeable future, here is how to get rid of the stain — along with the smell.
1. Apply the Soap
Donning your favorite waterproof gloves (because, you know…yuck), dab a little dish liquid onto a clean rag or paper towel, and apply it to the stain. Don’t rub much and don’t go overboard on the amount — you’re just blotting a little of it on. This will help with the germ factor.
