Clean Your Glass Cooktop the Natural Way

Glass cooktops are popular for several reasons. One of those reasons is that they don’t have those nooks and crannies where spills and cooking debris can be notoriously hard to clean. However, that doesn’t mean that your glass cooktop is always going to look spic and span. If you’re having trouble getting yours really clean, here are some tips for cleaning it without harsh chemicals.

1. Hot Towel & Baking Soda

First, soak a kitchen towel in hot water and dish soap. While it soaks, sprinkle some baking soda right onto your cooktop. Don’t be shy…be generous with it! Put the hot towel on and wait about 15 minutes. Then, use the towel to scrub any stubborn stains. Use a damp cloth to wipe away any residue.

2. Magic Eraser

This is my personal favorite way to clean my glass cooktop — a Magic Eraser! The cheap dollar store kind will do just the same thing. Just wet it a little and scrub that baked-on grime away. If you like pair it with your favorite cleaner or some baking soda.

3. Razor it

As long as you can be careful, a razor blade or even a putty knife is a great tool for scraping burned food off your glass cooktop. Just use caution that you don’t scratch the surface.

4. Wax it

This doesn’t exactly count as an all-natural cleaning tip, but it is a fantastic way for you to keep your glass cooktop cleaner, longer. Car wax! Waxing your stove top will ensure that future spills wipe right off. Now, no matter what’s for dinner on a crazy Tuesday, it won’t end up permanently attached to your stove. Pretty brilliant, huh?
