The most helpful tip I can give you when it comes to storing Christmas décor is to use clear containers and bins! I can’t tell you how much this will help when you are looking or something in specific. Instead of having to rifle through a bunch of different boxes, you can just look at these containers and see exactly which one has the stuff you need!
Instead of just throwing your Christmas lights into a bin and having to untangle a massive mess the next year, try this. Take a hanger or piece of cardboard and wrap the lights around it. It may take a bit longer than just throwing them in a box, but it will save tons of time down the road.
If you use beaded garlands, then you know how much of a hassle it can be to store and untangle them. A great way to pack those garlands into a small space is putting them in a water bottle. The beads should fit easily and seamlessly, making it a breeze to store and take out!
Use an egg carton to more safely store your ornaments. Just put a single ornament in each space and then pack away the ornaments! It’s such a cheap and easy storage idea!
If you have ornaments that don’t fit into the egg carton, then try this! Use an apple case. They’re bigger than the egg carton, so the ornaments may fit a bit better without possibly breaking.
If you use a fake tree, then you know how hard it can be to store those things away for a whole year. This time around, tie a belt around the Christmas tree to make it more compact and tight, making storage so much easier!
Drill holes in the side of a container and stick a rod or dowel between them. Now, tie ornaments together and hang them over the rods. This allows you to store ornaments without stacking them on top of each other, which makes them less likely to break!
You can also make this DIY storage device out of plastic cups and a piece of cardboard. Just put the cups in the container, put an ornament (or two) in them and, if there’s more vertical space, then put a piece of cardboard and add more cups to the next level!
While wrapping paper isn’t necessarily a Christmas decoration, it is something used at Christmas time that can be a hassle to store away and pull out! Make a wrapping paper station that you can use to keep all of your wrapping supplies organized and uncluttered for a less stressful Christmas!
A great and cheap way to take care of your Christmas wreaths is to put garbage bags around them and hang them on hangers. The bags prevent them from falling apart, getting caught on things, and getting dust on them—it’s genius!
Use an over the door shoe organizer to store your wrapping paper. This makes things so much more accessible and easy to use—it will seriously change your whole Christmas season!
Get new and clean garbage cans to store your Christmas garlands! You just need to gently fold the garland into the can, seal it up, and then put it out next year without having to worry about it getting damaged or dirty!
