If you love to bake, there’s nothing more convenient than having a dedicated baking cupboard. Your baking cupboard can hold mixing bowls, mixer attachments, measuring cups and spoons. Then when you go to make muffins or cookies, you know just where everything is. It’s pretty awesome — until your favorite cabinet turns into a great big mess. Here’s how to create your own baking cupboard or whip it into shape.
1. Pick a Cupboard
You might need to shift some things around in your kitchen, but choose a cupboard that’s conveniently located in relation to your stand mixer and baking ingredients. After all, why run all over your kitchen whenever you bake something?
2. Go “Commando”
To organize your baking cupboard and keep everything neat, you’ll need some of those nifty Command hooks. Specifically, pick up 2 or 3 Command key rails. Follow the instructions for how to install them. It’s super easy. You’ll use these for measuring cups and spoons along the back of the cabinet.
3. Install Side Hooks
For mixer attachments, install a Command medium-sized hook on each side. Depending on how many attachments you need to hang, you could install a set on the lower shelf, and another set on the upper shelf. You can buy heavier-duty Command hooks if you’re worried about the weight. This seems like a lot of hooks, but they’ll save precious shelf space for your mixing bowls and even things like baking soda, flour, and sugar.
3. Install an Easy Recipe Holder
To hold your recipe while you bake, hang a simple binder clip on the back of your cupboard door. There are are different ways to install it, including using another Command hook. If you use a recipe measurement conversion chart, you can hang that on the back of the other door.
