Most of us have that one thing that we never get tired of buying. For some it’s shoes. For others it’s watches. And for many of us girls, it’s purses. There is nothing like a good purse, and nothing like moving all your stuff from one purse into a different one. Am I right? I think I have 6 or 7 sitting on my closet shelf that need to be organized. For you, me, and the rest of womankind, here are some quick ways to organize those irresistible impulse purse purchases (say that 5 times fast!)
1. The Purse Cubby
The size of your purse cubby will depend on how many you have. If there’s room in your closet, set it up in there. If not, it might look cute and colorful in your bedroom. Inexpensive bookcases make awesome purse storage (glass doors optional).
2. Shelf Dividers
Vertical shelf dividers are handy for keeping purses upright and neat on any shelf. If all you have for purse storage is a long upper shelf in your closet, these might be your best bet. No more purses strewn all over!
3. Hanging Around
What about hanging your purses under a shelf? Grab some hooks and attach them on the under side, and you’ll be able to hang two purses on each hook.
4. Show ‘Em the Door
There are several different types of over-the-door organizers that work well for purses. Some have large, clear pockets, some are a series of hooks, and some have snap-in straps specifically designed for purses.
5. Make a Display
If you have a ton of cute little handbags, why not make a design feature out of them by hanging them directly on a wall? All you’ll need are some hooks. And if you don’t want them in your bedroom, find some wall space in your closet or on the back of a door.
6. Shower the Purses You Love…
This idea requires a cheap shower curtain rod and some S-hooks. You can hang them way in the top of your closet, where they won’t take up your most valuable space.
7. Retail Inspiration
You know how stores hang handbags? They typically have a hanger mounted on a wall, where they can hang several of the same purse all together. This one swings in and out!
