There is nothing worse than being disorganized while traveling! Here are 15 tips on how to stay organized while traveling!
How To Stay Organized While Traveling
Instead of stacking clothes on top of one another, roll them instead (the clothes that are rollable, that is). Not only does this save space, but it also makes it easier to access your clothes without having to move everything else around.
If you’re going to travel with multiple bags, it’s a good idea to make sure that they’re labeled. You can label them with names (if it’s for more than one person) or label the bags with what’s inside of them (shoes, bathroom supplies, etc.). Use stickers to help keep everything in order.
Bring a dirty clothes bag so you can easily separate clean and dirty clothes. This helps your clean clothes stay nice and fresh and also prevents you from just throwing all your dirty clothes in the corner.
Make sure to bring travel sized bathroom products instead of the full-sized bottles. This will make it so much easier to stay organized while you’re traveling. Plus, you’d be surprised at how much bathroom products weigh! Meet the 50 pound weight limit, and pack smaller containers.
I highly suggest a packing checklist. Not only for what you need to pack, but also a list of where your packed items belong. Keep the list handy so that you can easily access it and know where your stuff is.
I absolutely love this idea. If you plan on being adventurous and getting dirty, then bring a shower cap that you can stick dirty and muddy shoes in!
When traveling, you always want to make sure that someone in the group has a itinerary. If you don’t know where you’re going or when, then you’re going to be pretty disorganized.
In order to keep things simple, only bring one version of rewearable items such as shoes, jackets, scarves, etc. You don’t need to pack a ton of clothes for your trip. And does anyone really wear all of the shoes they packed?
Speaking of packing light, keep your whole wardrobe simple and practical. There’s no need to pack multiple outfits. Stick with layers that can be worn at multiple events!
Invest in some nice organizers that keep your luggage and bags divided and organized and allow you to easily locate your items.
If you travel a lot, implement a system to stay organized. Start a habit of putting certain items in the same place and in the same bag. That way, when you need to quickly pack, you know exactly where everything goes.
For travel that requires lots of documents, keep a little kit or pouch to store your travel essentials. This will save you so much time because you won’t be rifling around in bags and luggage to get identification and your boarding passes. Be sure to keep an eye on this! It would ruin a trip if you misplaced it.
Don’t wait until the last day to start packing. This will make you stressed out and incredibly disorganized. Instead, start a few days prior to your leave date and take your time so that everything is neat and orderly.
Be as minimalistic as you can when you packing for your trip. Try to use as few bags and luggage as possible; the less you have the easier it will be to keep everything together. This is one of my favorite tips on how to stay organized while traveling.
A really important item to have when you travel is a mini first aid kit. This will make things way less stressful if someone has an accident, and you won’t have to rip through all your stuff to find a Band-Aid or some ibuprofen.
