Most laundry rooms can definitely be one of the saddest, most cramped places that most people want to avoid altogether. However, that doesn’t need to be the case! Try these great organizing tips to get your laundry room together and make it a happy place!
If you don’t have space for a full ironing board, then consider attaching one to the back of the door or on the wall. It’s easier to manage than a normal ironing board and you just have to pull it down and push it up! Plus, it’s not as bulky so it takes up less space.
If you’re really tight on space and neither type of ironing board will fit in your laundry room, then build your own ironing board pad. All you do is stick this on top of the washer or dryer when you want to use it and iron away!
Some clothes can’t be dried in the dryer, which can create a clutter if you are trying to air dry all of your jeans. But if you build a drying rack, then you don’t have to worry about that! It just pulls right out of the wall, making it super space efficient.
I hate when I lose socks and either end up throwing the pair away or losing the other half right before I found the first missing sock. Build a lost socks board where you can pin up the lone sock until its partner is found.

Shelved laundry baskets are also a great solution to keeping your laundry room organized! Put the younger kids’ baskets near the ground (so they can reach it, if needed) and give yourself enough room so you can access the baskets when they’re in the shelf.

You can simply have a piece of plywood cut to the right size at the hardware store and then cover it with heavy-duty fabric, stapling it underneath with a staple gun. 🙂
