Most laundry rooms can definitely be one of the saddest, most cramped places that most people want to avoid altogether. However, that doesn’t need to be the case! Try these great organizing tips to get your laundry room together and make it a happy place!
If you don’t have space for a full ironing board, then consider attaching one to the back of the door or on the wall. It’s easier to manage than a normal ironing board and you just have to pull it down and push it up! Plus, it’s not as bulky so it takes up less space.
If you’re really tight on space and neither type of ironing board will fit in your laundry room, then build your own ironing board pad. All you do is stick this on top of the washer or dryer when you want to use it and iron away!
Some clothes can’t be dried in the dryer, which can create a clutter if you are trying to air dry all of your jeans. But if you build a drying rack, then you don’t have to worry about that! It just pulls right out of the wall, making it super space efficient.
I hate when I lose socks and either end up throwing the pair away or losing the other half right before I found the first missing sock. Build a lost socks board where you can pin up the lone sock until its partner is found.
Instead of having to trek around all the rooms to collect laundry, just install a laundry chute (ideally in the bathroom) where you and the rest of your family can throw your dirty clothes down in right down a laundry cute to a waiting laundry basket. Ingenious!
. A great solution is attaching a lint container to the wall (right by the dryer) and only emptying it when it’s full of lint! So much more efficient.
If I had a dollar for every nickel or quarter I found in my dryer or washer, then I’d have quite a bit of money! So making a change jar would be a great idea! I can stop the change from damaging my machines and also collect money for a nice dinner.
My laundry room is pretty small, so every inch of space is vital. So it always bugged me when there was that little gap between my washer and the wall. Putting a little cart there filled with cleaners has been a great way to get the cleaners in order while also using all my space!
Hanging laundry baskets on the wall is a great way to save floor space while also being efficient with where you can keep everyone’s clothes. By having a hook or slot for each family member or type of laundry, then you can make things go a lot faster!
Shelved laundry baskets are also a great solution to keeping your laundry room organized! Put the younger kids’ baskets near the ground (so they can reach it, if needed) and give yourself enough room so you can access the baskets when they’re in the shelf.

I’d like to have the instructions for the ironing board on the dryer. What was used as the base?

You can simply have a piece of plywood cut to the right size at the hardware store and then cover it with heavy-duty fabric, stapling it underneath with a staple gun. 🙂
