For all physical documents and lists, use a wedding binder or book. Have something like this where every physical document for your wedding can be tracked: receipts, lists, letters, etc. Put the important documents in sheet protectors for added organization.
When it comes to the wedding dinner, a seating chart is absolutely necessary. Be sure to have a chat available for your guests to see where their seat is, and place several of these charts around the venue, to keep a line forming around one of the charts. It also would be a good idea to have place cards so your guests know exactly where to sit.
This may be hard, but make sure to delegate! That’s right, delegate! Don’t take everything on by yourself. You have a wedding party, parents, fianceé, and friends to help you out. So reach out and ask for their help when needed. Delegating will keep your from becoming too overwhelmed with all of the aspects of your wedding.
After you get engaged, you can enjoy the euphoria, but make sure to sit down soon and discuss finances with your fiancé. Figure out who’s going to pay for what and how much you want to spend. This keeps things organized and helps avoid a lot of stress. Plus, when a budget is established early on, it helps prevent any money troubles down the road!
If you plan on signing up for a lot of wedding websites or other digital sources, then consider creating a wedding-only email address. It’ll be so much easier than having to fish around in your normal email to find things. Plus, you won’t get tons of notifications throughout the day!
Another great option for online organization is to create Google drive or use some sort of other file organizing device to keep your electronic documents in order. You can even give access to friends and family if they need to see certain items.
You may feel like you are great at remembering dates and appointments, but don’t do it! Get a wedding only calendar  and put ALL of your wedding information in it. Even if you think you’ll remember something, still write it down.
When things like your wedding dress, shoes, parting gifts, and other physical items start rolling in, you’re going to want a specific spot or room in your home to store them. Set this spot aside early so you’re not running around the home trying to get your stuff in order before the ceremony.
Checklists will save your life when it comes to planning a wedding. Create a checklist (or find one online) and then stick to it. And try to only do one thing at a time. Starting a project and then starting another without finishing the first is going to cause problems and stress.
Whatever device you use to organize your wedding, try to color code it. This will help you easily find what information you’re looking for and what goes where. (Hopefully it doesn’t take this many folders, though!)
Even if your wedding is a year or two away, start planning for it right now! Even if it’s just small things, start now! Take care of big tasks like finding a venue and a wedding photographer long before your actual wedding date. The time will sneak up on you and, if you aren’t prepared, it will be super stressful and unorganized!
Set goals that you can accomplish, even if they’re small and seemingly trivial. This will keep you motivated and stay on track. You could also use an app or other wedding organizer to keep track of and accomplish those goals.
