10+ Hacks That Will Improve Your Kitchen DRASTICALLY

They say the kitchen is the heart of the home — and they’re right. But what if the heart of your home is a disorganized mess? Chances are, that will start to bleed into the rest of the house. But never fear! Organization Junkie is here to help you tame your kitchen into the haven of love and family togetherness that it was always meant to be. Okay, maybe we shouldn’t go that far — but we can at least help you get it organized with these genius hacks.

1. Soup Can Storage

If you’re like us, you stock up on canned goods when they’re on sale. We have a storage room in the basement just for this kind of thing, but this hack will also help keep your pantry in order. First, buy one of those 12-packs of soda that comes in a box. Then, drink it all (the fun part, right?). Then, use the same storage principle the soda makers use to store cans of soup (or veggies, applesauce, beans…whatever fits). You can wrap it in contact paper if you wish, and label what’s in it. These boxes can be neatly stacked in your pantry or storage room. Genius!

2. Stale Chip Solution

You know those plastic hangers you get when you buy kids’ clothes, skirts, etc? Cut the clips off and use them as chip clips. Binder clips work great, too. You can get a pack of them at the dollar store.

3. Tension is Good

Well, not family tension, but it’s a dang good quality in a tension rod. And by the way, you can use those tension rods under your sink to hang spray bottles and rags on. Get a set of tension rods here!

4. Chip Saver

Got leftover chocolate chips, nuts, or macaroni? Cut the top off a water bottle and use it to keep things from spilling out (or you could just eat them, but whatever).

5. Wrap Rack

Grab a cheap magazine rack and attach it (Command hooks work) to the inside of your pantry or a cabinet. Use it to store foil, baggies, and plastic wrap.

6. Peg it in Place

Julia Child used a peg board in her kitchen to hold all kinds of utensils and cookware. And if it’s good enough for Julia…

7. Love Your Lids Again

Using cheap CD racks, you can keep all those plasticware lids organized in drawers or cupboards.

8. Measuring Mastermind

Look how cool. Use hooks to keep all your measuring cups inside a cupboard door. You can label them neatly like this. And if you’re a little more ambitious, you can hang an equivalent chart for easy reference.

9. Susan Wasn’t Lazy

In fact, she was smart. She learned you could use a small turntable (or lazy susan) to store condiments and other small items in your refrigerator. I have one that I used to store spices in my cupboard.

10. Grocery Bag Go-To

I don’t know about you, but I have a fairly large collection of grocery bags under my kitchen sink…and organized they are not. I need to try this tissue box hack. Someone remind me.
