7 Ways to Get an Organized Fridge

The best way to keep your fridge clean and organized is by cleaning it out once a week. That means getting rid of any leftovers or moldy/expired food, wiping up any spills, and making sure things are in the right spot. It can’t ever get too disorganized if you clean it every week.

At LEAST once a month (although more couldn’t hurt), you should deep clean your fridge. That means you take EVERYTHING out and clean the sides, shelves, bins, etc. Wipe it all down, deodorize if necessary, and then put everything else back in. This will prevent any nasty spills or stains from setting in.

Organize your food by labeling all the bins, drawers, or sections of food. If you want all your dairy products in the bottom left of the fridge, then label it so things actually stay where they belong. Customize the labels and organization so it works best for you.

I always like to remove excess packaging in order to organize my fridge and save space. Lots of food comes in bulky boxes or packages that aren’t necessary and just take up space. Get rid of those boxes and store just the food.

Clear bins are another great way to organize your fridge. Clear is important because, that way, you can see exactly what’s in each bin without having to pull them out or open them every time you forget or are looking for something.

Line the bottom of each shelf with wax paper or something similar. That way, if jam or juice or something else gets spilled, you can just replace the wax paper instead of having to tirelessly scrub at the mess.

Regular cleaning and maintenance is always a great idea. That way you don’t end up with a fridge that is super dirty. If you clean and quickly organize once a week, it won’t be so hard to deep clean it when you need to.
