There is nothing worse than having a messy desk. You can’t ever find what you need! These desk organization ideas are easy to do and will make a world of difference for your work space.
Desk Organization Ideas
Get a bin or basket to store all you papers in. This will prevent the nasty paper pile up that we’re all too familiar with and will also keep your inbox and outbox much more organized and effective!
Build or buy a desk organizer. It can be anything from repurposed cereal boxes to a professional desk organizer. Look at your budget and your needs and then plan accordingly!
Don’t let all the cords and wires just hang around your feet below the desk. Instead, install a bin on the underside of your desk and then put the power strip in it so the cord and wire mess is minimal! This keeps things looking prettier and also creates less hazards!
I love the idea of using an old window shutter as a mail holder! Not only is it super cute, but it’s actually really handy, too. You can just slide the pieces of mail in between the slats and organize however you want!
Don’t just set the printer on or underneath your desk in plain sight. That’s really unsightly and can also get in the way. Instead, find a clever way to hide your printer: you could put it in a drawer, in a cabinet, or somewhere else.
To hold more supplies, get some pegboard and attach holders that let you store all of your office supplies. You can paint it and decorate the pegboard to make it match the rest of your office space.

Don’t let all your cords and wires get tangled. Instead, use clips to keep them in place. Not only is this safer, but it also allows you remember which cord goes to what device.
Invest in a bench that isn’t just for sitting and decoration but also storage! You can store extra office supplies, files, or anything else on the inside of the bench!
You definitely need to get a drawer organizer in order to keep your desk neat and orderly. You can make it or buy it, whatever works best, but just make sure you actually get one!
I love the idea of using magnetized storage. Spots like the underside of your desk are probably just wasted space, so why not use them to store things in magnetized jars?
You can also buy a desk (or make your own) that optimizes storage. That means the legs and other parts allow for you to store office supplies and other work material. It’s actually a great idea, especially if you’re tight on space.
It’s always a good idea to have a desk calendar. However, it doesn’t have to be an old and boring one! Instead, buy or make a cute calendar or calendar system that works great! I love the idea of using string and clothespins for a unique calendar!
