Make to-do lists. This will help you know which tasks you need to accomplish and it will feel so good to cross them off after you finish.
Use a calendar, and even have a family calendar that everyone can add to, so that you make sure you don’t forget anything. This will help you work your schedule around other activities you might have going on and have a place to write things down once you plan for an activity.
Set aside planned social media time! This can be especially helpful if you have a blog you want or need to keep up on. Social media can easily suck up your time throughout the day, but if you have planned time for it you will have more spare time during the day to do other things.
Add stickers to your planner that will help you remember to accomplish important tasks on certain days (like paying bills). These little stickers can help you so much to be organized and use your time most effectively.
Set a timer for certain tasks you want to do, or that are sometimes challenging to do. If you don’t like spending lots of time on cleaning, or don’t feel like you have enough time to workout, just set a timer for the amount of time you can spend on those things. Even if it’s just 15 minutes, you can still get a lot cleaned or get a good workout in that short time if you work at a good pace.
Help yourself keep track of your water intake by buying a water bottle or marking one you already have with time markers. This will help you meet your daily water intake needs and do so in a timely manner by spacing it throughout your day.
Use the time-blocking method in your planner or schedule. This will help you plan ahead to look at the schedule in your day and block off the right amount of time you need for each appointment or activity. It will help you be planned at every hour and account for traveling time, time to eat, etc. You will also be less likely to overbook yourself!
Set up a routine schedule for yourself. For example, in the mornings try to wake up, workout, eat breakfast, and shower and then try to follow that same order the next morning everyday thereafter. Having a routine will save you from wasting time and also help you establish habits to use your time effectively.
Every night before you go to bed, write down the things you know you need to do the next day. This will help you already be prepared for your day, and how you will use your time before your day even starts.
Sync the calendars you have in your email, on your phone, your computer, or any other place you might jot down things you need to do. Having all of your calendars line up will be really helpful and will make you less likely to forget things in your schedule.
Save your time by planning out your meals for your week and the groceries you will need to buy for those meals at the store. This will save you time everyday by not having to think of what to make for dinner and also help you make sure you don’t forget anything at the store and have to make multiple trips.
Do things to relax and make you happy! You have to make time for yourself everyday. Taking a break to read, write, workout, paint, or whatever it may be, will keep you refreshed and feeling great so that you have more quality time to give of yourself during the rest of your day.
Download apps that will help you organize your time! There are so many different ones that can help you stay on task, avoid social media or games that can be distracting, and so much more.
Multitask when possible. Try to time activities well so that you can get lots of things done at the same time. Make sure to start your washer, dryer, dishwasher, or other things that take time FIRST when you clean so that you can do other things while they are running.
Always remember that it’s ok to ask for help! Try delegating tasks you need to complete to other people so that you can have more time, or so that you can avoid overwhelming yourself.
