The holidays are a magical time of year — but they can also cause us some stress. Especially if you like to entertain, you’re probably worried about having a clean and tidy home. To help you enjoy your holidays more with less stress, here are some cleaning tips that will help you whip your home into shape in less time.
1. The Entryway
Your entry is the first impression guests will get of your home. Clean your glass with this mixture: 1 cup water, 1 cup vinegar and 1 drop dish soap. Spray your windows and give them a good wipe with a lint-free cloth. Then, stash backpacks and other clutter in your coat closet or in baskets.
2. Steam-Bathe Your Oven
If you’ll be cooking, you’re going to want to do it in a clean oven. If you don’t have time for heavy scrubbing, give it as steam bath from the inside. Fill a casserole dish with water and about 1/2 cup of vinegar. Set your oven to 350 degrees and let the mixture stay in your oven for about 30-45 minutes. Let it cool, then get a rag or paper towel and the grease and grime will be much easier to wipe away.
3. Toilet Freshener
If you don’t have time for a full bathroom cleaning, at least clean your toilet. Know what makes it sparkle? Cola! Really! Measure out a cup or two, then pour it in and swish with your brush. Might as well drink the rest before guests arrive.
4. Carpet Diem
Yes, today is the day to pay attention to your carpet. Even if it doesn’t look like it needs it, giving your floor a quick vacuum will give the impression that you have just cleaned your whole house. Seriously. Even better if you sprinkle some carpet freshening powder first.

5. Kitchen Smackdown
Okay, it’s more like a wipe down. It doesn’t have to take long to grab some antibacterial wipes or your favorite multipurpose cleaner and wipe counters, cupboards, and your sink and faucet. It’ll make your home smell good and feel clean. It’s part of speed cleaning your kitchen.

Really love the idea of steam bathing your stove for a quick clean. Definitely will have to try that!
