I don’t know how things are at your house, but around here, we could fill up every wall with the kids’ art projects. But where do you draw the line? How can you store all those projects and pictures you want to keep, but don’t really have space to display? Here are some tips for storing those precious memories without hurting little feelings.

1. Rotate

As things come home or get created, hang them up. However, you’ll need to keep an eye on things that have been displayed for a while. Take down the ones your kids are less concerned about and put up the new stuff.

2. Create a Portfolio

At the end of the school year, compile the projects you feel are most important to keep, and put them in sheet protectors in a binder. When they get older, your kids will love looking through all the great stuff they made — and it won’t be sprinkled all over your house or smashed in a box.

3. Make Wrapping Paper

Approach your kids about using some of their drawings as wrapping paper for a grandparent’s birthday gift. Chances are, they’ll love the idea and so will the recipient.

4. Frame It

When your child creates something really special, why not frame it? Even if it’s something they made for Christmas or Halloween, you can always keep it with your seasonal decor and get it out at a certain time of year.

5. String it Up

With twine and clothespins, or this nifty wire curtain system, your an display tons of your kids’ artwork in an original way that takes up less space. You can even put it up in their room.
