  • Essential oils are incredibly versatile and good for a lot of things, including protecting your clothes from moths. There are a few that moths hate the scent of, so choose which you like best. All you’ll need is a diffuser that can hang from the rod in your closet. It allows the scent to circulate inside your closet and protect your clothes. Oils that are effective include cedar wood, lavender, rosemary and peppermint.
  • Before you store any clothing or hang it inside your closet, make sure it’s clean! Moths are actually attracted to the smells in soiled clothes. So using your washing machine and laundering soiled clothes is one effective way to help keep moths out of your closets.Keep Moths Out Of Your Closets | clean | moths | pest control | tips and tricks | moth control
  • Make your own moth-repelling sachet for your closet by filling a mesh bag with whole clothes and crushed rosemary leaves. Hang it inside your closet and replace when the scent evaporates.
  • For any clothing that has already had a moth infestation, kill the moths and their larvae by placing those garments in your deep freeze for a week. They will not survive.
  • Store items that you are extra fond of inside air-tight bags, just in case.
  • Hang cedar wood rounds on the hangers in your closet. Moths hate cedar. For extra an extra level of protection, put a few drops of cedar wood essential oil on each round to make the scent stronger and last longer.
