Why Use A Cleaning Caddy?

I used to spend a lot of my cleaning time going back and forth from the laundry room where my cleaning products are stored to other rooms I was cleaning, just to grab the right cleaning tool or cleaning solution for the job. Invariably, I’d forget something and have to make more than one trip through the house just to clean one room. Well, that was pretty ridiculous! A cleaning caddy solves that problem by carrying most of the cleaning products you need for most of the cleaning jobs in your house. What a time saver!

How to stock a cleaning caddy

There are some basic things that every cleaning caddy should have, and there are also items specific to one room that don’t need to take up space in your caddy unless you need or want them to. One example is toilet bowl cleaner. Wherever possible, store things like this in the room where it is used, instead of in your caddy.

So what are the basic things you should keep in a cleaning caddy? Here are some suggestions:

  • Rubber gloves if you use them
  • Cleaning cloths, both wet and dry
  • Wastebasket liners
  • Furniture polish or wax, if you use it
  • Dusting cloths, like microfiber
  • Window cleaner for windows, mirrors, glass tops, etc.
  • Multipurpose cleaner for sinks, tubs, and spot cleaning
  • Disinfecting wipes for surfaces
  • Paper towels
  • Sponges and non-abrasive scrubbers
  • Rubbing alcohol–here are 8 things to scrub clean with it

Once you’ve chosen a cleaning caddy and stocked it with your favorite multi-purpose cleaning supplies, you’re read to go! Cleaning just got much more efficient!
